Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW), in consultation the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC), are announcing that from today only registered trainers of greyhounds will be allowed to enter race meetings. If a trainer has 4, or more, greyhounds engaged at the meeting they will be permitted to have one attendant.

The new stringent measures are being introduced to ensure that greyhound meetings have no more than 50 participants on course at one time.

As a result of the new directive, we will be relying on fellow trainers, or nominated club staff, offering assistance by catching dogs in events they do not have runners.

GRNSW and GWIC have also decided to trial a relaxation of the rule that requires one person to only catch one dog with catchers allowed to catch more than one dog in the catching pen.
