Top racing expected

Four competitive heats of the Madbookie Goulburn to Richmond highlight a top card of racing at Goulburn on Tuesday.
Headlining the fields in the heats is consistent greyhound Time No Money, who jumps from box six in the second heat (race six, 350m). Trained by Donna Campbell, Time No Money won a masters race,  for greyhounds older than three years and nine months, at Goulburn last week in time of 20.27. A grade up on Tuesday, she is well drawn and has a good record over the track and distance.

In the other heats, Smiley Mulwee and Mallee Trumps looks the ones to beat in the first heat (race five, 350m), which is arguably the most open race of the day. The lightly raced Smiley Mulwee is yet to miss a place in her six career starts and is beautifully drawn in box three, while Mallee Trumps returned to the winner’s circle last start at Canberra and is improving with race experience.

The third heat (race seven, 350m) features Black Pocket in box one. Trained by leading mentor Jason Magri, Black Pocket won three races straight at Bulli before two unplaced runs, including a fourth place finish at his last start at Goulburn where he was unsuited by a wide draw. With the inside box, Black Pocket should make amends and qualify through to the next stage of the series.

The final heat (race eight, 350m) features an interesting runner in Lucid. Trained by Allan Ivers in Swan Bay, Lucid was an impressive win at Gosford last week and will compete at Goulburn for the first time in his career on Tuesday afternoon. The top from each heat qualify for the final at Richmond on September 15.

Also featured at Goulburn on Tuesday is the race return of Rambo Banner in the Goulburn Workers Club Stakes (race 10, 440m in box eight). He hasn’t raced since August 10, but was in unstoppable form before his let-up, winning four races in a row. If near his best, will be very hard to hold out.

Another greyhound to watch will be the nicely bred Lagoon Lucky, who jumps from box eight in the Mellcat Cleaning Stakes (race 11, 440m). Lagoon Lucky, is by Cosmic Rumble out of Wentworth Park winner Lagoon Lowanna, and has one win from two starts at this track and distance.
