Leaping into stardom

Unbeaten Beside The Truth can take another step towards potential stardom at the latest Goulburn meeting.

The exciting son of Barcia Bale and Midnight Capers jumps from box six in a terrific Palmerbet 1-3 Wins Final (race eight, 440m) aiming for a fifth win in his first five starts.

Beside The Truth has been a brilliant performer for Riverina trainer Peter Sims so far, with his impeccable record including a dazzling 24.93 over this trip two weeks ago.

He was slightly slower last week while winning from this box in 25.23 but with a clear jump should have too much pace for the rest of the field in this high-quality decider.

Beside The Truth looks to have the clear time edge on this field, with My Country (box seven) – a winner of her two starts so far – looking the next best.

In other Goulburn Tuesday action, Too Good Thommo can win the first of four heats of the Palmberbet Goulburn-Bulli Series over the 440m (race four).

The well-bred son of Black Magic Opal and Classy Love (box one) placed over the 350m at Goulburn last week but looks stronger over this distance and won his only previous start wearing the red rug.

Blinky’s Idol (box one) has been solid rather than spectacular in recent starts but has gone well on his last few visits to Goulburn and can win the second heat (race five).

In The Bag (box one) and Busted Custard (box eight) looks the top picks in heats three four – races seven and eight – respectively.

Meanwhile, Little Whacko (box five) has been racing well since the turn of the year and can win race nine over the 350m.

The daughter of Spring Gun and Joyce’s Happy has won four of his last seven starts and clocked a decent 20.19 over this trip last week.
