Eyes On The Highway

NSW star Hardaway Highway stands out at Tuesday’s Goulburn meeting. The Ron Marsden trained greyhound is aiming to end 2016 with a win in the Palmerbet Stakes (box 7, race 10), 440m). Hardaway Highway was a top NSW country performer in 2016, extending his record to 17 wins, 15 places in 38 starts. The son of champion Oaks Road and Hardaway Shiraz won four and placed in five of his last 10 Goulburn races. Two weeks ago he was second to impressive Blackwood Farm.

Chiricahua (box 7) has been solid but can return to win in the Greyhounds As Pets Stakes (race 5, 365m). The Peter Sims trained greyhound, won over this trip at Goulburn in August with a sparkling 19.90 run.

Fred The Weapon (box 7) looks capable of winning the thedogs.com.au Stakes (race 6, 350m). The Wayne Boreland-trained dog has won twice over the 350m at Goulburn and placed from this box here over the 440m.

Boston Road (box 6) had an interrupted year but looks ready to win the Palmerbet Goulburn-Bulli Series first heat (race 7, 440m). Oaks Road and Kissin’ Chloe’s son placed at Bulli last start after a break.

Be My Beau (box 2) clocked 25.29 last run over the 440m here and could win the Palmerbet Series second heat (race 8). The Graham Thurkettle trained dog won at 347m in Young three starts back and has 14 wins, 17 minors in 57 starts.

Jacobite Dougie (box 2) can win in the third heat (race 9). The Derek Kerr-trained greyhound has won four and placed in four of nine starts.
