Benny The Jet’s impressive return

The John Cusack-trained, Benny The Jet, made a brilliant return to racing last week. Benny The Jet jumped from box one in the first of four heats of the 5th grade Palmerbet 1-3 Wins Series (race five, 440m) for back-to-back victories.

Benny The Jet returned from almost four months on the sidelines with an impressive 25.08 win from box six. This will be the first time the former Victorian has jumped from box one but he looks capable of taking advantage.

Hardaway Knight also looks capable of taking advantage of the rails draw in the second heat (race six). The Ron Reynolds-trained greyhound has the solid if unspectacular record of three wins and seven minor placings from 23 starts.

He comes to Goulburn in good form, having placed twice recently over the 440m at Canberra and looks the top pick from this draw.

Knock About (box seven) has made a decent start to his racing career and can triumph in race seven, the third heat.

The son of former Golden Easter Egg winner Don’t Knocka Him and Ritza Ping has won twice in four starts so far. Tullabung Rock has been a star performer for Yass trainer Neil Staines.

The son of Magic Sprite and Hidden Assets has built the decent career record of eight wins and 11 minor placings from 34 starts and has been a handy performer at country tracks.

He placed in strong company at Goulburn three start back over this distance in a decent 25.10 and has scored one win and two minor placings in seven previous starts from box one.

Staines usually scores wins at country tracks and is enjoying a strong run of form, including making the recent Golden Easter Egg final – NSW’s biggest race of the year – with Slamming Thunder.

In other Goulburn Tuesday action, in-form Listen Up Jessie can score another victory in a competitive Goulburn Workers Club Stakes (race nine, 350m).

The Edmund O’Brien-trained greyhound (box three) won over this distance at Goulburn last week in a smart 19.81. Eleven races are on the card and action starts at 12.17pm.
